The Mountains Were Calling

Since I departed NYC in mid June, I’ve spent the last couple months enjoying the fresh air, peace and quiet and pool time back home at Krajec Lake. It’s been a much needed break from work and reality; I’m very grateful to have been able to spent my time off at home.

Social distancing at it’s finest.

Since I wasn’t working in the hospital, I spent time working around my Dad’s house, helping him keep up with mowing and maintaining our Airbnb. In order to keep up with our grounds and property, it basically requires full time work. My Dad is incredible for being able to do both and work full time for his customers. I will forever be inspired by his diligent work. If I could have half of his work ethic, I’d be set in life!

Oh the healing powers of home!

The more time I spend away from this special place, the more I’ve grown to appreciate it. The evident amount of hard work and dedication my Dad has put into maintaining it, makes home that much more special to me. I love that my home is a place that proves that if you put in the time, work and dedication to something, the outcome and beauty will be transparent. It’ll always be a place were I can go to take all of my worries away, and for that I will forever be thankful!

Besides being reminded of how grateful I am to call this place my home, I spent time helping my sister recover from her car accident. I’ve helped her with some exercises and kept her busy by having her help me with the Airbnb and cleaning. Although she called me the warden for being strict, Im proud of her for how far she’s come and the progress that she’s made.

Big stick, small gimp!

Summer Memories:

Before the Airbnb became booked from guests, I was able to have some friends over to visit and make special memories!

Probably my favorite picture ever of Cooper and Ava!
Cooper enjoying the lake with his new friend Dallas.
Took a trip to meet sweet baby Lincoln for the first time!
Sweet sweet summertime.

Believe it or not, two months of not working went by really fast. Before I knew it, it was time to start considering jobs and where I wanted to work. After a weekend spent in Denver for a good friend of mine’s bachelorette party, it was confirmed that Denver is exactly where I wanted to be. It’s always been on my list of places I’ve wanted to travel nurse in so I went for it and began applying for jobs.

Bachelorette shenanigans.
Hiking in the Boulder Flat Irons. College buddies reunited!
A great weekend spent celebrating the bride to be!

Once I accepted a travel nurse job in Denver, my sister and I had about a week or so to pack up our things and hit the road.

Road trip buds forever!
It’s been real, Krajec Lake!

Road trips are ruff.
Made it to Denver just in time to catch the sunset at Cherry Creek state park. Unfortunately the wild fires have caused the sun and sky to appear this color.

Once settled into our apartment, we went on a quick adventure to Boulder Falls.
Mountain therapy.

We both agree that we will really like it here and are looking forward to more adventures. Savannah is going to continue working on some therapy for her leg and knee even though there is a possibility that she may need another surgery. We will figure it out as we go!

Here’s to new beginnings, adventures and memories to be made in the beautiful state of Colorado! Stay tuned.

Happy to be on the Travel Train again!
